Twenty five dollars less…for an endless amount of ads? For some reason, this does not sounds like that much of a great deal to me. In case you haven’t heard Amazon last week came out with a new lower priced Kindle, this Kindle sells for only $114 and will include ads as the screensavers.
To tell the truth though if I didn’t already have my Kindle, I probably would have taken advantage of this price and bought this. I just don’t think it’s enough of a discount for all the ads that you will get in the future. The one thing that I do like about this Kindle is that it’s also going to come with special offers, like these.
- $10 for $20 Amazon.com Gift Card
- $6 for 6 Audible Books (normally $68)
- $1 for an album in the Amazon MP3 Store (choose from over 1 million albums)
- $10 for $30 of products in the Amazon Denim Shop or Amazon Swim Shop
I could totally take advantage of the $10 for $20 Amazon.com plus the $6 for 6 Audible Books! Audio books are so expensive, so this would be a great way to get some more on my device.
I think what has a lot of people worried though is what else Amazon might want to do in the future. Like ads in the books? Now that would be really disruptive, it would be like being online. You can’t visit any sites with out being accosted by ads everywhere. So where will Amazon draw the line? Well…we will have to wait and see how this new version works out for them first.
How do you feel about this new version? Will you be ordering it?
